For those Verizon Wireless customers who have been waiting for the RIM BlackBerry Pearl 8130, the time is here. The pretty little Pearl is available now for purchase online and will be in stores nationwide on November 8 for $149.99 with a two-year contract. Unlike the original, GSM Pearls, the Pearl 8130 features video-recording capabilities, 3G (EV-DO) support, and built-in GPS, which you can use with Verizon's location-based service, VZ Navigator. It also has Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP support for stereo Bluetooth headsets, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and support for up to 10 e-mail accounts. Sounds like a sweet package to me.

Verizon Blackberry Curve Please!?
by sakers85 November 6, 2007 3:12 PM PST
We (and by we I mean me) would like a Verizon Blackberry Curve, not a Pearl. I want FULL QWERTY! And besides I like my hip brick right now (Verizon 8703e) why change to something that is slimmer?

Verizon Pearl is defective

Verizon Pearl software for the BlackBerry desktop software DOES NOT WORK. You are supposed to be able to see, delete and add applications from the Applications link but this is defective.

The software is version 4.3 but it does not work

I have worked for hours with BlackBerry and Verizon techs and there is no current solution.

GPS is useless
by gaijindragonslayer_2 November 15, 2007 3:13 PM PST
I live in NYC and need a good GPS and VZ Navigator software is horrible but worse the GPS puts me at different places. on frequent requests, even though I have not moved, sometimes as much as 1.0 KM when it's meant to be 0.01KM accurate! This makes driving a c--p shoot and walking worse and telling people where you are for work or play idiotic.

Bought the phone for GPS but that does not work. Navigator is ugly and VZ maps are a disgrace.

Nice people though, just managers are too busy looking for retirement.
