iMac screen condensation reported

The new iMacs seem to be getting more than their fair share of problems. After reports of the graphics card freezing up the system, there now may be a condensation problem in the computer's hardware.

According to the Apple support forum, more than a few users have experienced condensation behind the LCD. For now, there is no mention of any damage resulting from this, but as we all know, combining water and computers is never a good idea (unless you're talking about water-cooled systems).

We have contacted Apple regarding this issue and are awaiting a response.

Hmmmm sounds weird to me

condensation usually occurs when moist air hits something COOLER. Most things in a computer are warmer. ????? Maybe we are looking at hot muggy rooms and the fans in the iMac keep it so cool that water collects????

Either that or the room gets real cool at night and then warm moist air is allowed to enter. That could cause a problem, but that would affect most computers, er, except those that get real hot real quick. I guess the Xbox 360 is OK. :-)

what's the status currently on this?

What is the status currently on Apple responding/or not, to the issue of condensation? I have been holding off on buying a new IMAC until I get a sense of whether this issue will be resolved.
