The Sony NWZ-S610 series Walkman doesn't bring anything striking or new to the table, but that doesn't change the fact that it's a quality MP3 player with nice extras and a killer battery life. Plus, Sony got rid of SonicStage--the best news ever. You can view the newest Walkman from every unabashed angle in our slide show.

For more than five years, Jasmine France has covered a variety of tech products for CNET--from scanners to keyboards to GPS devices--but she's happiest where she is now: sitting atop a pile of MP3 players, "testing" every music service known to man, and jamming a variety of earbuds in every shape and color into her absurdly small ears. whats the need?

At this point I just use a site like mediamaster where you upload your music, and just access it anywhere. maybe I'd pick up one if I were leaving the country, but I don't what the point of having an mp3 player with lots of storage is anymore if you have a similar sized device that can access the bounty of the internet from almost anywhere.

Excellent alternative -- Audible.com support??
by digital burrito September 6, 2007 10:30 AM PDT
This seems to be a great alternative for anybody not locked into apple's i-world. Solid feature set -- and don't underestimate the value of long battery life.

I looked around. Not much information other than what's on Sony's site. Anybody know if this thing supports playing audio books from Audible.com?
