6G iPod interface leaked?

Photo of rumored 6g iPod.

Where's my cover flow?

(Credit: MacRumors.com)

MacRumors.com recently posted (and subsequently removed) some convincing clips of a possible sixth-generation iPod interface. DapReview.net was able to collect some of the yanked clips together into a YouTube video (visible below, hopefully). Could this be a taste of what the future holds for the next iPod? If so, I'll be somewhat disappointed. After the iPhone teased us with Cover Flow navigation and widescreen video, it'll be hard for Apple to put that genie back in the bottle. What do you guys think? Real or fake? Anyone else spot Boards of Canada on the Artist list?

Can't be real
by Downward_Spiral July 22, 2007 8:23 AM PDT
If only because the band of choice is The Beatles; and Apple has never carried The Beatles' music on iTunes because of a copyright issue with Apple Records. Therefore, this demonstration was in all likelihood not created by Apple or it's affiliates.
Unless of course, they are planning to, which might be a bigger announcement than the 6G interface, anyway.

Might be real, but looks fake.

Apple's legal department demanded the article be removed... sounds like it might be real (hope not- I'd expect cooler after the iPhone).

However, the font and battery meter don't seem Apple-esque. The battery meter is inconsistent in one of the videos. The font doesn't look like the traditional iPod/iPhone font. Either way though, we can agree on this: it needs an update.

Real or Fake, Apple hates leaks

Apple would attempt to remove any video claiming to reveal future product details, because they like to keep all future products airtight until they are officially announced.

If Apple only paid attention to viable "leaks" then we'd know exactly which ones were the real deal now wouldn't we?

If you look closer...

The Beatles songs are from the Cirque du Soleil's 'Love' production, not directly from the Beatles library. Nothing to jump on there.

This was on MacRumors and thenremoved "per request from Apple Legal". If
