Verizon announces a new LG Chocolate
The new LG Chocolate
(Credit: Verizon Wireless)Shockingly, there are other music phones out there that aren't iPhones (Amazing, I know). LG and Verizon have come together to release an update to the LG VX8500 Chocolate phone from last year. Dubbed the LG VX8550, the new Chocolate looks a little slimmer and sleeker and comes with a new navigation wheel with a trace motion light. The touch keypad (which we found rather annoying in the old Chocolate) will now have a vibrating haptic feedback when touched. Hopefully this will make it easier to use. Features of the phone include a microSD card slot, a music player that supports MP3 and WMA formats, a 1.3-megapixel camera, EV-DO support for V Cast Music, stereo Bluetooth support, a wireless Web browser, and more. The new Chocolate will be available in three colors: black, black cherry, and blue mint. No word on pricing yet, but the LG VX8550 will be available in all Verizon stores starting July 9.

and ease of use. I've been using the MP3 player and the battery life has been
great so far. The Mobile web 2.0 moves much faster than the previous version
and downloads for song is also speedy. If you are looking to upgrade to another
phone, I woud definately recommend the new LG Chocolate.
This phone is much sleeker and slimmer than the original chocolate. Also
love mechanical scroll wheel, even though it does feel a little chinsy.
Although I would've liked to see a 2 megapixel camera the 1.3 camera still
takes crisp colorful pictures. The support for a 4 gig micro sd card is a nice
touch too. The vibration touch button are a great touch, love the tactile
feedback. The dialpad is a little cramp which can be a problem for texting or
calling on the go, but I did like the raised buttons which is something hard to
find on phones in this day in age. Except for a few tiny things like lack of
flash and cramped keys, I think this phone is a major improvement on the
older chocolate and is worth a look.
Call quality has been an improvement over my old phone(LG VX5200). Ear speaker volume is the best of any phone Ive used in a while. I can actually hear thhe person calling em for a change.
- Krzr vs. Chocolate

- I got this phone 1 week ago!!! I LOVE IT!! I switched from a krzr to this. Let me just say that the LG Chocolate is 10 billion times better than that krzr. The sound is great and my favorite part is that you can record a song you like and just send it to yourself and you can save it as a ringtone. So you never have to purchase a ringtone again I could have never done that with a krzr.
