Shure's iPhone adapter

Not the first or last iPhone adapter, but certainly one of the best looking.

One of the little-mentioned aspects of the iPhone is its recessed headphone plug, liable to render some earphones incompatible. If you've invested in a sweet pair of high-end headphones or earphones for your iPod, and you're feeling a little iffy about the iPhone sending you back to the stock Apple "mug me" earbuds, then Shure's new Music Phone Adapter might be just the thing. It's a cable adapter with a built-in microphone and a control button, allowing your existing set of earphones to be adapted for the iPhone. The product, to retail for $39.99, is due out in August.

What a great deal
by Fil0403 July 6, 2007 4:11 AM PDT
So besides being overpriced, having no user-replaceable battery, having ridiculous amount of memory for a so-called iPod, forcing you to an expensive 2-year contract and not even supporting something so common in almost every smartphone today as 3G, the iPhone also forces you to spend dozens of dollars (on top of the already exagerated price and expensive 2-year contract) to be able to use it as iPod (and we all know how good Apple headphones are, so you *will* want to use yours or buy new ones). No wonder only ignorant Apple fanboys would spend this amount of money on the iPhone instead of on a fully-featured desktop PC.

filo403 must be shorting apple stock...

you have to be losing you shirt betting against apple to have such strong
feelings against such a revolutionary product.... all great products have
negatives as well as positives... a ferrari gets horrible fuel economy, terrible
handling in the snow, poor rear visibliity, miserable trunk space, and is
extremely expensive...why would anyone ever buy one? ah! because the pros far
outweigh the cons... just like with the iphone....
