We think it hardly compares with the "Simpsons" Xbox 360 as far as special editions are concerned, but Microsoft has come out with a promotional Halo 3 Zune, according to Engadget.

The company had said it would release the special 30GB media player next month, and GameStop is already taking pre-orders for a June 15 release at $250.

We'll get out our stopwatches to see how long it takes for them to show up on eBay.

Not sure what you are talking about. The Zune does play videos. WMV and Mpeg4 format.

What microsoft should really do
by Midway11001 May 17, 2007 5:29 AM PDT
You know what might actually be interesting and get Zune sales rolling? If Microsoft started to give a way free Halo 3 games with Zunes maybe a few weeks earlier to when the game alone would be released. Even if Microsoft raised the price of the Zune 30 dollars or more to compensate for the game, i bet a bunch of people would buy the Zune then.

Haha, sellers on eBay never miss a chance to make a buck.

A "Halo 3" Zune? WHAT A JOKE!!? LOL
by ServedUp May 17, 2007 4:27 PM PDT
What does Halo 3, have anything to do with music? Must be one of Robbie
Bach's cornball ideas. He probably couldn't sign any popular musicians to be
branded along side the ZUNE. Well maybe they could get "David Hasselhoff"
his career can only go up. Thats a positive!

But seriously, Microsoft is so desperate with the Zune they have to brand it
with something thats totally unrelated which is geared to such a small
market.

A "Halo 3" Zune is soooooo corny and so tasteless its smells of failure.
I mean even the graphics are so cheese.

The Zune is going downhill and its also going to bring everyone who's ever
been associated with it down as well, including Robbie Bach.

Microsoft should jump ship on the Zune that totally misread the market on
this and the "Halo 3" Zune proves this.

there is a reason for the Halo Edition of the Zune

Hey Servedup, there is a reason for the Halo Zune Check out the link below for the list of things that you get that are mutimedia related. It's not as bad as the red nano, how much went to fight aids? a dollar from ever ipod sold? Next time you mouth off try and do a little research.

Sorry the link you provided tells me nothing..
by ServedUp May 17, 2007 10:10 PM PDT
Now, if your going to give a link. Give one thats relevant to why I'm so wrong
about the "HALO 3" (CHEEESE) ZUNE.

The link you gave doesn't tell me why this Zune is so special. Its just
marketing trash talk. There was no hint of anything commendable or
redeeming about the "Halo 3" Zune. Just another "dumb" Microsoft way of
trying to sell more of them. LOL.

But I know, your probably upset with my comments, cause you probably own
one yourself, and you probably need the "SOCIAL", so you can become social,
and have the freedom to go "SQUIRT" a song to a stranger, in your feeble-
minded attempt to justify your purchase.

But SERIOUSLY NOW.

What a pathetic name! "HALO 3" Zune. Who are they kidding? This just proves
Robbie Bach is an idiot. Next thing you know, their going to come out with an
"Origami" Zune and a "Vista Ultimate" Zune. SO PATHETIC!!

I'm sorry but branding a "ZUNE" with the "HALO 3 logo", ain't going to
jumpstart Zune sales. The Zune is a total catastrophe, PERIOD. They should
just throw in the towel or go back to the drawing board on this (and by this, I
mean for them not to buy a company's patents, which they did with Toshiba's
Gigabeat, which to my knowledge they don't even own).

Microsoft's Entertainment & Device Division really scored a big "L" on this.
(e.g. L= LOSERS)

Just my opinion.

No need to be offended. I'm not to concerned about the big iPod-Maker.
Frankly new and better ones are sure to come, they haven't really given any
REAL reason for consumers to switch to a Zune, if thats what your on about,
and Microsoft hasn't really given and real reason for iPod users to switch to a
Zune, either.

But give me a BREAK, "WELCOME TO THE SOCIAL"?? and first, a "BROWN"
Zune, now a "HALO 3" Zune?. Thats not hating, clearly, if you can't see the
tastelessness behind the message Microsoft is sending you, then its pointless
for me to even give a valid unbiased opinion. Your clearly blinded by the
reasoning, that Microsoft could do no wrong.

Its plain and simple, if you want to be different, really DIFFERENT buy a "Halo
3" Zune. If you want to be original (and not buy an iPod) why not buy the
original "TOSHIBA GIGABEAT" instead! But calling the Zune MORE original than
an iPod, or any other music player, is just ridiculous, cause i'm just past all
that BS nonsense. If you want the real TRUTH and are not bothered by it - the
iPod won long time ago.

Personally, if Ashton Kutcher was Microsoft, the ZUNE would be considered
one big Punk'd prank and the only victim are the fools who bought it.

Here's a fact: you're an IDIOT!!!

To diss the Zune like that, saying "...Calling the Zune MORE original than an iPod, or any other music player, is just ridiculous, cause i'm just past all
that BS nonsense." just shows what kind of a BIASED IDIOT OF AN APPLE FANBOY YOU ARE! To say that Zune isn't original is an UNWELCOMED and COMPLETLY UNFOUNDED comment! Does the Ipod have a big screen, Wifi sharing, an FM radio or Widescreen video viewing, hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Uhh, NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's right! Defend that you numbskull!! You can't admit that there are other MP3 players out there that are MORE ORIGINAL than Apple!!! I think you work for Apple!!
Zune should improve it's feature first
by X-C3PO May 23, 2007 8:17 PM PDT
Either Halo 3 Zune or Zune is not important.
I am a Taiwanese and purchse the Zune at the year, I am very disappoint for the asian language can not show on the screen. Whereever the Zune will to be sell, but your saian album just cannot show, give a block to insteat the asian character. That's stupid, everyone are possible to touch the world music....
