How to wear an iPod on your head

There's apparently a booming business in marketing headgear that makes people look like idiots. How else can one explain the popularity of such products as the solar fan hat and the "Head Spa Massager"?

Witness the latest entry into the lucrative field of nerd apparel--the "iWalk" headphones, as seen on Coolest-Gadgets. This ingenius invention is kind of the MP3 equivalent of the beer hat, with a slot on one side that holds an iPod instead of a 12-ounce Bud Light. It gets better: The same player can be shared by two sets of headphones for Siamese dorkdom. But we think "I Walk Alone" would still be the most appropriate theme song.

There's at least one saving grace. The iWalk has the ability to fold away, for when its owner sobers up.

Great . . .

For would be thieves! Wearing your iPod on your head makes you a walking target and you're unable to hear approaching people around you. What's to stop someone from running up from behind, grabbing the headset and running off in some random direction before the listener even realizes what happened to them? In a matter of seconds, you've lost your headphones AND your iPod! Never catch me with one of these.

I've had a similar product for about a year now.

I love them. They are really comfortable and they also have a cable to connect to other devices. I agree they aren't for traveling outdoors but for the office these rock.

I want the cycling helmet option

Seriously, anyone who makes a good cycling helmet with built in iPod dock (and speakers!) will make a fortune.

P.S. Don't tell me listening to music while cycling is dangerous. Listen, cycling is dangerous already. Let me make that choice.
