Sony Ericsson's new slider Walkman phone

Sony Ericsson W580
(Credit: Sony Ericsson)In addition to its new Z750 HSDPA phone, Sony Ericsson yesterday announced a new addition to its powerful Walkman phone lineup. The W580 brings some smart styling to the company's Walkman phone line. Available in white or gray with orange accents, the W580 features a slider design, which is still a somewhat rare design for the company (the last slider Walkman phone we reviewed was the previous W850). And at 0.6 inches, it also marks a further move by the company to compete in the thin phone craze. Inside you'll find stereo Bluetooth, a memory stick micro slot, a 2-megapixel camera, song ID capability for identifying unfamiliar music tracks, quadband world phone support, and an FM radio. Stay tuned for our complete Sony Ericsson CTIA photo gallery.

and greatest phones for their clients (where the heck is the K790 that has
been floating around Europe for a long time now?) I doubt this phone will be
coming anytime soon. That means one will have to purchase it for a premium
from a third party vendor. Cingular, the only major provider who carries Sony
Ericsson devices has yet to bring SE's latest to the US. My friends and family
in Europe can get great deals on the latest phones through their providers
(Orange, MoviStar, Yoigo, etc...) Most Americans are unaware how behind
their devices are. Most free phones even lack Bluetooth! The Razr, in all its
confounding versions is still being pushed hard! That call-dropping,
software glitched doodad fell out of status across the pond years ago.
At least Apple is giving Americans first dibs at the iPhone, we need it, we've
been behind the times in this realm for far too long.
