A digital photo frame, with flowers!

What did we tell you? Yesterday we whining characteristically about a preponderance of digital photo frames on the market. And now we find that yet another one is being hawked, this one by Philips.

But here's the rub: The latest "Digital PhotoFrame" seen on MobileWhack doesn't seem to feature much of anything new over previous models and is apparently being marketed solely for Mother's Day, available with an "exquisite new floral design."

That, in our humble opinion, is more evidence that this business is way overcrowded. Companies typically mount a big push on relatively minor holidays (sorry Mom) to move older items or excess inventory, often touting "special editions" with different colors or minor design changes. Philips may have a perfectly decent product here, but we wouldn't be surprised if it's resorting to that old fallback strategy.

But it has excellent picture quality.

This would be better as a cheap accessory to the standard version of this frame.
That said, I got my mom the standard version of this frame for Christmas and
my fiancee decorated it with crystals. They both loved it...
This frame does have the best LCD picture quality I have seen in a 9 inch and
under picture frame.... There is always room for something that is better than
the competition.

Love the digital frame
by m2collins April 8, 2007 9:35 PM PDT
I wanted a frame this year and did a lot of shopping. I found that the store brands either look cheap or are really spendy. I shopped around for several months and then found the one I wanted at www.modernkeepsake.com. They have traditional frames that really look like picture frames. My husband bought it for me and all my friends love it. I love my digital frame. Thanks, m2collins
