Craving NYC: Why did the iPod cross the street?
Well, this week we're doing something a little different with the video blog--not only do I experiment with taping in our lovely CNET lounge, but I also run around with the camcorder, catch my co-workers off guard, and ask them stuff about a pretty hot topic in local tech.
A New York state senator, Carl Krueger, D-Brooklyn, is introducing legislation that will effectively ban the use of iPods, cell phones, BlackBerrys, PSPs, and so on, while crossing city streets. Naturally, some people have some relatively interesting stuff to say about it all.
Bonus points if you can name the CNET editors and writers who make cameo appearances!

Caroline McCarthy, a CNET News staff writer, is a downtown Manhattanite happily addicted to social-media tools and restaurant blogs. Her pre-CNET resume includes interning at an IT security firm and brewing cappuccinos. E-mail Caroline.

there is no real way to solve this without some kind of controversy. But maybe
they could make a law that they have to pause their iPod or stop playing with
their blackberry just when they are crossing the street? Although, you cant get a
cop to stand at every street corner to regulate that. Its just a thought.
- More lighting...

- I think the lobby is a much better environment to film in due to better lighting and less distractions, but frankly it's you, not the background that is worth watching.
