iPhone to arrive June 15?
Apple iPhone
(Credit: CNET Networks)We all know the Apple iPhone will arrive in June but we still haven't received official work on the specific day it will hit stores. But just yesterday the MyiPhone blog posted a letter that Apple allegedly sent to the FCC in October. The "leaked" memo, which could be a big hoax, asked the FCC to withhold the iPhone's antenna information, schematic diagram, block diagram, and theory of operation from public disclosure indefinitely. According to the letter, those details contain proprietary information that would give "competitors an unfair advantage."
Apple then goes on to ask that external photos, radiation testing information, and the iPhone's user manual be kept confidential until June 15, 2007. Normally, such information becomes publicly available as part of a phone's certification process. Since Apple hardly is the first manufacturer to try to protect trade secrets, the MyiPhone blog was more concerned with the June 15 date. Could that mean a release date around that time? In all seriousness, it doesn't seem to far-fetched since Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference ends that very day in San Francisco. Now there's food for thought.

the competition and its obvious drawbacks (high price, limitation to Cingular,
small memory for music/video, lack of voice dialing, etc.), is a true KILLER
APP.
For this, that app could well be DICTATION SOFTWARE (since a microphone is
already present, and a stripped-down OS X) . . . that would let a user dictate
an outgoing Email, or text that could go into a rudimentary word processor
(like TEXTEDIT), and thence to a memory file or, by any one of several means,
to a printer if desired.
Then, trademark issues permitting, the device could be renamed the POCKET
MAC !

Its really just - another Newton
Twice a failure, in retreat
Might iPhone, then, be Jobs' "three-peat"?

- Anyone with the wrong service provider?

- When iPhone launches a lot of people are going to be switching to Cingular. I have already switched mainly because Verizon did not provide service where we moved. I found a great deal at Wireless MarketPlus. It was easy to sing up and the phones where delivered right to my door. No more waiting in lines to talk to high pressure sales people.
