Shake hands with the 'Vertical Mouse'

It may be sold at a site called "Fun Shop," but we think this mouse is worth taking seriously, at least in concept. Rather than just flattening out its profile or some other flawed attempt at design, Evoluent made the "Vertical Mouse" with a far more practical ergonomic approach, as Coolest-Gadgets notes. Like the "Wow-Pen," this mouse is constructed to work with the natural movement of our hands. wrists and forearms. What a concept.

Instead of pushing the button to click, which would cause it to move the mouse to the left of where you wanted to click, you would simply lightly squeeze into your hand.
http://www.aerobicmouse.com for more details. (When I looked at that page it even showed the left handed version.)
- Pretty good for what is trying to do.

- I bought Evoluent VerticalMouse (first generation) and it does need some used to but it does work to minimized twisting of the forearm which helps people with carpal tunnel syndrome. I use it part time on one of many systems and I transition from a normal mouse to it without any problems now. There is a Evoluent VerticalMouse 2 that apparently fixes some issues I experienced with the first generation Evoluent VerticalMouse and too bad there isn't a trade-in program to get the the updated Evoluent VerticalMouse 2.

(8 Comments)For the Macintosh people you need to buy an USB 3rd party driver from USBoverdrive to get all the other programmable buttons to work which I didn't like since it should be been part of the purchase. I think this was done because there are less Macintosh sales so it doesn't justify the driver being part of the package.
