This blog is called Crave. On it, we write about gadgets and other related goodies that we crave. It's kind of logical, you know?

But this week, my video blog explores some things that we don't crave: namely, the old-school gadgetry that gets dropped off at the Lower East Side Ecology Center's post-holiday electronics recycling drop-off. There's some pretty nutty stuff in there. (Infrared trash cans, anyone?)

Stop by next Wednesday for an all-new urban tech adventure. I'll let you in on a secret: I don't actually know what it's going to be yet. So we'll all be surprised!

Caroline McCarthy, a CNET News staff writer, is a downtown Manhattanite happily addicted to social-media tools and restaurant blogs. Her pre-CNET resume includes interning at an IT security firm and brewing cappuccinos. E-mail Caroline.
