A look back at James Kim's work

by Molly Wood
In Memoriam: James Kim

James Kim was one of CNET's most beloved personalities. For those of us who worked with him, he was our friend and a member of our family. An e-mail we got today shows that many of you felt the same way. It reads, "James came into my home once, sometimes twice a week, and he was like family."

In that spirit, we've put together a CNET TV playlist of some of the best James Kim videos we could find and a compilation of the moments that made us love him the most. James charmed everyone who met him or saw him on CNET or TechTV before that. Please join us in remembering James and his work. We will all miss him more than we can say.

I have been following his work
for years. He's a hero for what he did for his family
in the crisis. I have my deepest respect for his courage.
It is sad to see this happen.
I hope his family and CNET can move on strong.
Rest in peace James Kim.

My thoughts and prayers go out to James Kim's family, friends, and co-workers. It was about a couple of weeks ago where I first "met" him through his Microsoft Zune review. There was something about him that made you trust him. It's so unfortunate that his life was cut so short and my hope is that people will remember him for his superhuman heroic efforts to save his family. He will be missed...

I am so sorry to hear the news...He was a very brave man to do what he did for his family. We had been following the news, hoping for a different outcome. He will be missed greatly, as we relied on his reviews for many products and was always reliable for good info. The Kim family and friends will be in our hearts and minds...

Hi, I didn't know James Kim or his family, but I read about the tragedy online on MSN, and it was so very touching that I then logged on to the CNET website to read about him and his story, and I just wanted to say that it's wonderful to see that Mr. Kim had so many loving friends that considered him to be family and created this memorandum for him. My condolences to his family.

James Kim remembered

I loved Jim's reviews on tech products. Whenever I saw he was reviewing something, I would usually play it twice. He seemed to always talk about the things I wanted to know

FAREWELL JAMES, REST IN PEACE
by VCManiax December 7, 2006 4:50 PM PST
I've only been at CNET long enough to know of James Kim's work. This is a little shocking to hear; but what he sacrificed for his children, is a testiment to his own character.

To you, Rest in Peace,
