DS Lite falls victim to Swarovski

by Mike Yamamoto

At this rate, our well-documented paranoia over eggs will soon be eclipsed by fears of Swarovski crystals taking over the world.

The latest victim: The Nintendo DS Lite. Gadget Candy reports that a version of the gaming device encrusted with 1,200 stones--all pink, no less--has been spotted at the Multipazz boutique in London for 200 pounds (that's nearly $400, for those of us who don't get out much). The kicker? It was apparently designed by none other than Paris Hilton herself, which would explain the dog.

... actually produced by Bling My Thing in Berlin
by bling-my-thing February 4, 2007 11:17 AM PST
It seems that there have been many blogs in the internet, which state that these consoles were designed by Paris Hilton. Hmm... ! That is not really true. The pink design with a swirl line is called "Hermitage Rose", the original design of Bling My Thing! We are a Berlin-based design company, who is specialised in Swarovski customisation. Last year we have crystallized 20 DS Lite Pink consoles for Nintendo UK to promote its launch in the UK market. I have no idea how people ended up saying it was designed by Paris - but last year we did give her a Motorola mobile phone with this design. Somewhere along the line people wanted to believe that these were her designs. More publicity guaranteed, I bet! But it is a false statement...
