Art is the new black

Imagine if you decorated with speakers and it didn't feel like a bachelor pad. Impossible right? Not anymore.

SoundArt speakers (Credit: SoundArt)

This miracle has been achieved with SoundArt's speakers that double as wall art. One or two of the speakers plus a subwoofer box hook up to any MP3 player, home stereo or digital radio.

The speakers look like a canvas hanging on a wall, and the art can be anything you want: a black-and-white cityscape, an Andy Warhol soup can, a photo of your cat wearing a birthday hat, or a post-modern smearing of colors. You can choose from what SoundArt offers, or customize one with the aid of an artist.

But since everything sounds better when spoken by a Brit, I'll let them tell you that part: "One of our authorised stockist(s) such as DegreeArt can work on your behalf to identify an artist who will work on a commission to create a bespoke piece specifically for you."

Yes, please.

Got a chance to hear them - fairly decent sound - NOT GREAT - but not bad - perfect for discreet executive offices or small studio NYC apartments where every foot counts
