Waiting for the PSP

Still waiting...

The guys at GameSpot took a stopwatch to Sony's shiny handheld and measured exactly how long its games take to load. Most games take about a minute to get to any action, with sports titles such as Madden taking almost twice as long.

The biggest offender in the waiting game is WWE Smackdown! vs. RAW 2006, which took a little more than four minutes to get to gameplay. Less patient PSP owners might want to stick to classic and puzzle games such as Lumines, Gradius Collection, and Bust A Move Deluxe. Those games take slightly less than a minute to load.

On average, PSP games take about 103 seconds to load, though that number is probably skewed by the load-a-licious wrestling game. Comparatively, Game Boy Advance and DS games take an average of 25 to 28 seconds to load.

The following product mentioned is available.
