New Timbuk2 bag powers your gadgets

CNET gets a preview of Timbuk2's new messenger bag and backpack that will charge your phones, tablets, MP3 players, and Bluetooth headsets on the go.

Inside Scoop: New bag lets you power on the go

Timbuk2, maker of messenger bags, backpacks, Kindle Paperwhite dinner jackets, and laptops sleeves, now hopes to attract even more attention from the tech set with two new bags that can recharge your devices. And if you've ever wondered how the company's famous bags get made, we scored a tour of the San Francisco factory floor to show you how that gets done, too.

Timbuk2 showed us the juice behind the power of its new Power Commute messenger bags. The bags come with an unusual charging system called the T1, made by the company Joey. Apparently not available individually to consumers, the T1 is a thin, lightweight charger with a cable for keeping the battery pack in its pouch while still providing access throughout your bag to the T1's juice.

Check out our gallery for more details, and be sure to enter this week's Crave giveaway to win a one-of-a-kind, CNET-branded Timbuk2 Commute Messenger bag.
