The 'Terminator of mini Bluetooth speakers'

DBest has a tiny new Bluetooth speaker--the PS4501--coming out soon that it's calling the "Terminator of mini speakers."

The DBest PS4501 is due out this spring and should cost less than $100 (click to enlarge).

We recently had a listen to DBest London's tiny Bluetooth speaker, the 4001, which the company billed as the "world's smallest Bluetooth hi-fi system." Well, the U.K.-based company has more products in the pipeline, including the larger--and better-sounding--PS4501, which DBest is calling the "Terminator of mini speakers."

We're not sure what that means, but in its metallic version, it does look like a high-tech grenade. The speaker ships with two different-colored speaker covers in the box and will be offered in a variety of colors when it ships this spring (the metallic covers can be swapped out for a set of simple black covers or you can go two-tone if you want, with black on the bottom and silver on the top, or vice versa).

The speaker will come in multiple colors and include 2 different-colored speaker covers in the box.

The PS4501 is also an MP3 player but you do have to add your own memory. Most people will use it with an iPhone, iPad, or Android smartphone or tablet, though it works with any Bluetooth-enabled device. No word on pricing yet or an exact release date here in the U.S., but we suspect it will be $79.99 or less (or at least that's what we think it should cost).

With an optional memory card, you can play MP3 files straight from the speaker.
