I'm a big fan of Vimeo's Video School instructional videos. So when I saw it had a handy one of holiday shooting tips, I thought I should pass it along.
The one thing it doesn't mention is that you shouldn't go into an event with an unfamiliar camera or camcorder. Be sure to consider the conditions you'll be shooting in and the adjustments you might need to make. Believe me, you don't want to spend an entire party or Christmas morning missing shots because you didn't know how to turn something off or on.
I've pretty much botched the last couple holiday events where I had to shoot video, so I'm looking forward to trying these tips out as well as Lori Grunin's tips and tricks for shooting holiday photos.
