Whenever Apple updates its computers and devices, our immediate response is to click over to Apple's refurb listings to see what kind of deal we can get on the last-gen models. Today's MacBook Air announcement was no different, and if you don't mind getting an older Intel Core 2 Duo processor, there are deals to be had.
The biggest discount--at least in dollar amount--is on the 1.86GHz Core 2 Duo 13.3-inch Air with 2GB memory and 256GB flash storage at $1,249--$350 less than a new one, or 21 percent off. The one with the highest percentage discount, though, is the 1.4GHz Core 2 Duo 11.6-inch Air with 2GB memory and 64GB flash storage at 25 percent off new, or $749.
If you don't mind picking up an older Air, but aren't keen on refurbs, you can save some money right now, but not much. The best pricing we could find for the 2010 11.6-inch Air is just $938.29. A new 2010 13.3-inch Air with a 1.86GHz Core 2 Duo and 256GB SSD is $1,499. However, since the new models were just announced, there's a chance those prices may drop a little more.
