So, this is real--and maybe a little too realistic. Penthouse magazine is launching a new HD satellite TV channel in Europe that will broadcast original content in 3D. The new channel will join three HD channels already operated by Penthouse, which has a history of being ahead of the curve when it comes to digital distribution.
According to FriendFinder Network, Penthouse's parent company, the channel will air original content from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. every day. It will also feature 30 hours of new content each month during those times, including soft core and hard core.
No word yet on what kind of technology it will use--there are different types of 3D TVs and no front-running standard yet--or if additional satellite hardware will be needed. What is known is that the feed will be located on the satellite ASTRA 3B, 23, 5 Degrees East.
If you don't know what that means, it's OK. That's the info satellite providers use to pull a signal and send it over their own networks. That said, it's currently unknown which, if any, providers plan on distributing the channel, or how they plan to do it.
Until that's sorted out, it looks like we're stuck with Penthouse's standard HD hard-core porn, which is, well, interesting enough as is. If you need me, I'll be browsing images of bunnies and cute kittens.
