PowerShot G11 gets close-up ring light
Lumos, known for its X-Loupe portable microscope camera, has unveiled an attachment for the Canon PowerShot G11 that enables close-up shots.
The ring light works for the PowerShot G11/G10/G9, as well as the Ricoh GXR.

Displayed at the four-day CP+ photo show here, the ring light is made up of LEDs that can illuminate up to 22,000 lux within a 12-inch range (or 1,200 lux from a distance of about 12 inches). The onboard battery is rated to power the light for about 2.5 hours and can be attached to the tripod mount. According to a company rep, an optional external power source can extend the usage time by an additional four hours.
Expected to launch in Japan this May, the ring light attachment will also be compatible with the PowerShot G9 and G10, as well as the Ricoh GXR.
Lumos showed off its X-Loupe microscope camera at CP+, too.
