Cingular-bound Nokia N75 gets FCC blessing

Back in September, Nokia revamped its N series with some souped-up models, including the 5-megapixel, camera-equipped Nokia N95 and the musically talented Nokia N75 flip phone. However, our biggest fear about these drool-worthy gadgets was that they would suffer the same fate of their predecessors and lack the backing of a U.S. carrier. I don't know about you, but I certainly don't have an extra few hundred dollars lying around to purchase an unlocked N93. But it looks like that won't be the case with the N75. Today, the FCC approved the quad-band, UMTS smart phone for Cingular, and according to the user manual, the N75 will support over-the-air music and music video downloads and have the ability to get tracks from Plays for Sure services when connected to a computer using Windows Media Player 10. Other goodies on the N75 include a 2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, and a Micro SD slot. Sweet. No word yet on availability or pricing, but we'll definitely be keeping our eye on this bad boy.
