In olden times, players' World of Warcraft experiences ended when they dragged themselves away from their PC. Thankfully, those dark and miserable days are long gone, as game creator Blizzard has announced that it will shortly be expanding its hugely successful Armory app to include an all-new mobile version of the in-game auction house, where players buy and sell the items they find and make.

The existing Armory application allows players to check out characters, statistics, and achievements from their iPhone. The coming expansion will build on that by giving gamers access to the game's virtual marketplace, Pocket-lint reports. The mobile version will reportedly feature all the functionality of the "real" auction house, and will allow iPhone-equipped players to continue their financial wheeling and dealing on the move.

Ok the smartphone wars are over now. If the iPhone has an application for all the farmers, err...I mean players, to keep and eye on thier sales then it will be the offical smartphone of cow's and dead people everywhere.

Actually the iPhone armory app is almost better than the web armory.
None of the new 3D model feature but convenience more than makes up for it.

Cool. This is what smartphones are made for, in gaming terms. I'm not a big AH user myself, but I know friends who would really like it.

Access to in-game mail would be my #1 request with AH at a close #2. Guild chat #3.

But I'd rather avoid trade/general chat altogether. Barrens Mobile Chat FTW?

I'm not a fan of the ability to affect the game from an outside source. It gives an unfair advantage to people who can afford it, or spoiled kids. And yes, I do have an iPhone, which I pay for each month, so I'm not just hating because I can't benefit! External access to the game should stay passive, like the current armory.

Don't give the gold/item farmers easier access to pollute the in-game.

I cancled my AT&T contract but still use my iphone for its wifi ability.
So this app is still 100% free or at least I hope it remains free.

I googled for it and still can't find it from any apple.com webpage.

I hope it is being offered very soon.

I wonder what lame excuse Apple will have for not allowing the app. Oh wait, I forgot, Steve J. and his cronies don't even bother with reasons anymore, they just say "no". But hey, anyone caught in the reality distortion field (i.e. every single iPhone user/owner) will be impervious to this quibbles like this.

I would just like to point out that it is their right as a company to choose to support or deny support for any application no matter what it is. It sounds like you may have submitted an app for review and had it denied but hey, such is life. Why don't you check out XNA if you want to have pretty much anything you submit added to the service. Otherwise, get wise and build a new app or figure out why yours does not meet the terms and conditions.
