Samsung has announced that its made-for-seniors Jitterbug J handset is now available in red in partnership with the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women movement.

Not only will the phone be in red, it will feature health and wellness services like Daily Health Tips sent directly to the phone plus Jitterbug's LiveNurse service that will connect you to registered nurses for health advice. Otherwise, it has the same features as the other Jitterbug J phones: simple menu interface, a padded ear cup with an actual dial tone, Bluetooth, a bright display, and a large keypad.

As part of the AHA movement, Samsung Mobile has said it'll throw in $500,000 to the association's funds based on handset sales of the red Jitterbug J. So if you've always wanted a Jitterbug J and want to be charitable, this might be a good time to get it. Like the original, the red Jitterbug J is retailing for around $147.
