May the drive be with you.

Tyme Machines, maker of licensed USB drives, has released its Series 1 3D sculpted Star Wars USB thumb drives. The set, which includes replicas of Darth Vader, Boba Fett, Storm Trooper, and Yoda, comes in 4GB to 16GB capacities that range in price from $29.99 to $59.99.

At 3 inches tall and not exactly svelte, they won't be so easy to plug into a USB port, especially if you're using a laptop. But that's where a USB extension cable comes in handy.

So, are these the right characters to launch with? And what characters would you like to see Tyme Machines include in its next series?

Hunkered down in New York City, Executive Editor David Carnoy covers the gamut of gadgets and writes his Fully Equipped column, which carries the tag line "The electronics you lust for." He's also the author of "Knife Music," a novel. E-mail David. Follow David on Twitter.

Presidents of the United States. The Queen. Putin. Ghandi. Buddha. Caesar. Marvel heroes.

And they should really be bobbleheads, too.

I think they should have gone w/ Obi-Wan instead of a Storm Trooper - got 3 guys on the Dark Side vs just 1 on the Light Side.

Technically, Boba Fett isn't on either side.

I'm sure royalties play a role. Lucas owns the likeness of the 4 characters above. He doesn't own the likeness of Ewan McGregor or Alec Guinness. They would have to get a cut.

Where is the R2-D2 usb thumb drive? You'd think the droid most famous for interfacing and plugging into computers would have been the first Star Wars character chosen.

Star Trek series should be next unless they already did it. Then Battlestar Galactica.

What is with Yoda's head size? Geeze, that guy's melon needs an MRI or catscan. Seriously, doesn't he have friends in the Jedi dojo that can tell him to go see the doc that watched Padme die or something? Too soon?
