The Pyramids at Giza sound like the perfect place for an Apple Store.

Apple has opened an Apple Store at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris, an upscale shopping center beneath the famous Louvre art gallery. We reckon Apple products will look right at home in an art gallery, and we've come up with some suggestions for where Monsieur Jobs should open the next branch of Apple Store.

The new Magasin du Pomme, which opened this weekend, is located beneath the Louvre Museum. It features the usual white decor and split-level glass staircase.

The Paris shop is the first Apple Store in France. A branch in Montpellier was ready sooner, but the opening has been held back until Saturday to let the Paris branch grab the headlines. Microsoft, which is branching into its own dedicated stores, has a cafe on Rue Sebastopol where Parisians can try out, but not buy, Windows 7.

So where next for Apple? Here are our suggestions.

It doesn't matter where you build them... they (the people) will come. Perhaps not en masse, but in a steady movement that will continue to grow. The seed has been planted, and is being carefully nurtured.

What? This just reaffirms the fact that Apple sell because of the "OOOOOOO PRETTY SHINY" factor.

Frankly, isn't the Louvre a bit touristy for a retail store to make a profit?

On the other hand, Microsoft ought to reserve a place at the Palace of Versailles - man, that place has a lot of Windows!

apple stores will become tourist attractions for people in paris. The stores are becoming more of landmarks in cities like macy's in new york.

The space under the Pei pyramid in the courtyard of the Louvre Museum (not in the museum) is an upscale mall, a perfect location for an Apple Store. It is yes, frequented by tourists, but also by Paris residents.

If I see an Apple logo on a pyramid when I go to Egypt this December I'm going to be ticked. This whole Apple thing is turning in another Starbucks...

You are probably going to get a "tick" because when it comes to superior operating systems and hardware Apple has the "Advantage." :)
