Xbox with Sarah Palin's signature (Credit: eBay)

Someone, somewhere, may be willing to pay $1.1 million for an Xbox 360 signed by former governor, former vice presidential candidate, and best-selling author Sarah Palin.

We aren't sure how Palin's name gives a game console cachet, as from what we can tell she isn't much of a gamer (looking up SaraccudaAK as a gamer tag turned up nothing).

Nonetheless, the starting bid on eBay for this thing makes us wonder more broadly about the Xbox. Is it magic now? Enchanted? Cursed? Or is this just about the name recognition? It's certainly a one-of-a-kind item (for now anyway).

I want in on this game. If I can get a celeb to sign my Xbox 360 and sell it on eBay for loads of cash, I could be rich! So I'm going to leave it to you, readers, to tell me who I should get to sign my Xbox. And yes, I'll do it. CNET is owned by CBS, so, you know, I know people who know people.

Ask a thousand dollars and nobody notices. Ask a million dollars and suddenly one finds them selfs being talked about for days on everything from CNN and Fox News to the New York Times to cnet.

Asking and getting are two different things. Guy probably did not really want to sell it, but the publicity he and Sarah Palin are getting are well worth it.

Nobody, who gives a crap? Though I suppose there is a joke in there about Palin's political career failing harder than the RRoD?

Just dont send it in for repair. They will attempt to do you a favor and use a solvent to clean up your case so it looks nice and new with a few left over smudges as a reminder of what you once had.

Have Steve Jobs sign the X-Box, and then have Bill sign your iPhone.

why spend $1.1 million on an xbox with her signature when you can have dinner with her for $63,500 and get her signature there??

Have Hugh Hefner sign your 360.... He's getting closer to his death bed working with all that HARDWARE. Then your 360 would be worth more than a measly $1.1 million! Also if you can, try to generate a "Certificate of Authenticity" which would turn that 360 into a real Fort Knox. LOL!
