One song still a mystery for Beatles: Rock Band

Beatles lovers will soon be able to feel what it's like to sing and play with the Fab Four in the interactive game The Beatles: Rock Band. But what famous Beatles tunes will be featured on the disc?

Rock Band makers MTV Games and Harmonix revealed 19 more songs Tuesday, bringing the total of known tracks to 44 and leaving the final tune a mystery.

The Beatles: Rock Band lets players sing, strum the guitar or bass, or hit the drums to play with John, Paul, George, and Ringo as they tour the world. Players can join in with the Beatles, starting from their early days in tiny Liverpool clubs to their final performance on the rooftop at their Apple recording studio.

The game's origins stem from a conversation between Dhani Harrison, son of the late George Harrison, and MTV President Van Toffler. Harrison eventually took the idea to the Beatles' Apple Corps and also sold the concept to Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and Yoko Ono.

Though part of the Rock Band franchise, the Beatles game was designed from the ground up with new graphics, menus, and interfaces.

Beatles: Rock Band is set to hit stores on September 9 for Microsoft's Xbox 360, Sony's PlayStation 3, and the Nintendo Wii. The software alone sells for $59.99. The Premium bundle sells for $249.99 and comes with all the Rock Band equipment, including Beatles-branded drums, microphone, and mic stand.

I would guess Strawberry Fields Forever as the final / over the credits / wrap-up song. Since the song alludes to their origins then it would make sense to sort of wrap up the Beatles anthology.

Just my dos centavos ...

@Lance Whitney

Um, that's "strum the guitar of b-a-s-s," right?

I really doubt any of these songs will be difficult... Seems like it might get boring quick, even if it is The Beatles.

"Let it Be". It's got a better guitar solo than "Hey Jude".

You would think that it would be "Hey Jude" but there's no piano in Rock Band ... yet.
I personally prefer "Eleanor Rigby" but there are also no violins in Rock Band ... yet.
I would then say "Strawberry Fields Forever." since they could use that field background that they used in "Here Comes the Sun" and just put strawberries in there somewhere.

Of course, they'll probably have all of them available in downloadable content.
"When I'm 64," anyone? Oh, but there's no brass in Rock Band ... yet.

"Help!", it's got to be "Help!".

That's my thought, out of these 5 at least. It's the only one whose melody is not played on piano or strings.

Of course, I guarantee all the other choices will be downloadable at some point.

The final song should be "The End"

I didn't see "A Day in the Life" on the list, I'd rather see that than "Strawberry Fields".

With the vinyl version's never ending loop at the end...

I'd love to hear "Savoy truffle," but again, no horns.

7 Harrison tunes out of 44? I guess that's more than proportionate. I don't think George wrote 15% of their tunes!

Rocky Raccoon would be my pick

That was my first thought, too. I think some of the others ("Help" and "Eleanor Rigby," for instance) are more likely, unfortunately.

How bout their first #1 song, Please Please Me? (other than the harmonica) it's just guitars bass and drums. I do like Handcarved's opinion about putting "The End" as the last song but I'm sure they'll be more songs you can download anyway as time goes by. Lots of early hits not there like All My Loving, From Me To You and She Loves You

I thought I read somewhere that Michael Jackson owns 50 of the Beatles Catalog and the other 50 percent is own by Sony.
I remember reading that Michael was going to turn over the 50 percent he own back to Paul since Paul was upset that Michael had bought him out of the Catalog sale, but never legally did because of his untimely death.

I wonder who is gettng the Royalties from this. Its going to be a hell of a royalty.

Anybody know enithing about this for sure ?

Saw the story that he left Paul the rights in his will, but I doubt it - Jackson was too skint to hand such a valuable asset away and he had kids to consider. Regardless, the Beatles members and their estates are no doubt receiving handsome royalties for the use of their likeness (Paul and Ringo would hardly have done that E3 promotion if they weren't making a pretty penny).

I think its going to be "One after 909." That way, the entire rooftop concert will be available. Also because of the whole nine motif going on. i doubt it would be "hey jude", since it is not heavily guitar based. I would like "Rain" or "No Reply." Nonetheless, it will be fun!!!!
