It's been a long time coming, but Nintendo has finally announced that today's DSi system update will bring along the capability to upload photos from your DSi directly to your Facebook profile.

Photos from either of the two cameras can be manipulated beforehand then uploaded to Facebook afterward. While the onboard cameras don't boast enormous resolutions, we think the size should be good enough for use with the social networking giant.

Today's DSi update should be available about 8 p.m. Eastern time. DSi owners can simply navigate to the system update section of the settings menu on their device to download it. Let us know how it goes in the comments section below.

why use a DSi when you can use a laptop or a pc to do more than upload pics.

The Point of that is for people who don't have cameras and that use their DSi as one. Just for reason like to have a picture of them on facebook, myspace, twitter, ans Etc.
I think that it is very user friendly and is fast.
This was a great idea.

My wife and I both took pictures and uploaded them to our facebook profiles. Once we found the little blue "f" icon (which turned out to be in the screen where you can view photos saved on your system memory), it was really easy. The pictures looked fantastic on the site too. All this talk about the DSi cameras being pitiful is just silly. When you consider how small they are, where they are placed and the fact that the DSi is only $30 more than the previous DS Lite, it's amazing that they take as good of a picture as they do. Besides, the DS series has always been first and foremost about playing games. Nintendo is just getting into the brave new world of multifunction electronics. The fact that you can send your photos to the web wirelessly is pretty amazing.
