iPhone video of the day

Right after the new iPhone 3GS launched, I wrote an article about how the impending onslaught of iPhone videos would just lead to more losses for YouTube. Well, the onslaught has begun, and so have the reader e-mails asking me to promote their YouTube videos.

Andres writes:

"Hi, I think that these 2 videos that I recorded with my iPhone are really good and could be used for Apple's iPhone advertising. Please let me know if you like them."

Well, Andres, I kinda do like them. They're a little slow but have a Zen quality to them. But let's put them out to a wider audience and see what a few thousand people think (feel free to comment). And hey, while we're at it, if anybody else wants to submit an iPhone video to me to appear on Crave, you can. But it has to be shot with the iPhone, and it's gotta be good.

Comments?

See Andres' second video, "Filming lizard eating fly with iPhone 3GS" after the jump.

I love wildlife but these are wayyy too boring. Now if you had a scrap between the lizard and the squirrel or them holding hands, then that would be something worthwhile.

I don't see how these could be interesting as commercials.

you guys don't get the point. The point of these videos is the creativity that takes to record so close on video these animals on a mobile device

Yeah I am not seeing much commercial worthy here, I have to say though the picture is good except for the bottom of the video where it goes completely hazy.

You guys are totally missing the point of this video. That squirrel is 8 feet tall and he's eating the remnants of a bbq'd elephant calf

ummm zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...is this what really an 3GS iPhone has come to. Yeesh...it dont matter how good a camera is, if you dont do something interesting, then it'll be totally overlooked and the time spent creating it is wasted IMO

Nice. Good test of the iPhone mic.

Definitely commercial material. It's made of pure, solid win.

Almost as win as this. But that's really not suitable for an iPhone commerical.

Those were pretty cool videos. The squirrel was ok but the lizard eating the bug was cool. That bug had no idea what was coming his way.. HAHA. This just goes to show how good the video is on the iphone. No other phone can touch it. I wonder how long he had to wait for those animals to come by. Good thing the squirrel didn't try to eat the iphone. Now what would have been funny!

This is another one with the lizard, but this time feeding it from my hand. Enjoy!
