Nintendo Wii exclusive gaming rundown

by Jeff Bakalar

We already showed you what exclusive titles you can expect for the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3, now let's wrap things up with the Nintendo Wii.

Historically, the Wii has benefited from a large amount of solid first-party titles like Super Mario Galaxy and The Legend of Zelda. It's certainly refreshing to see third-party publishers getting into the mix this year with offerings like Dead Space Extraction and The Conduit.

With the release of Wii MotionPlus, we're beginning to see games that require the accessory to work. Titles like Wii Sports Resort and Red Steel 2 won't play without the advanced motion control attachment.

While it may cost more to play certain games on the Wii, the new technology should open up even more unique and interesting ways to play video games.

Click through our slideshow and tell us which exclusive Wii games you're most excited about.

It isn't.

What have Nintendo brought out that you consider a 'gimmick'?

There isn't a single game on this list that compels me to even think about buying a wii. Wow

I agree to a very large extent. I bought a Wii within a year of launch, it just doesn't get much play time, not with a 360 and playstation 3 in the house. The Wii really has one of the weakest console lineups in a very long time. Honestly I thought the N64 and Gamecube both had a better game lineup. I'd say the Wii is the weakest console since the Saturn. The new Mario Bros although a rip from Little Big Planet has potential, everything else is just lame. I guess this is yet further proof that sales has nothing to do with quality.

I've purchased more accessories and software for the Wii than I have for any previous system. I've always been somewhat anti-Nintendo - my game system choices were originally/obviously Atari, then Sega and later Sony. The Wii has been able to provide a nice mix/variety of games that I never thought I'd play (BrainAge) to the typical classics (Kart, Zelda). Grand Slam Tennis is awesome with the Wii Motion Plus, so I'm looking forward to other games that will utilize this. I believe every console has its place and I fully understand the appeal of the old-school systems such as X-Box 360 and PlayStation 3. For some reason I just love the party/multi-play aspect of the Wii, though its online offerings are getting better (Friend-Codes need to go). Conduit is fun in its control - similar to Metroids. I love the 3rd party push that's been hitting the system lately and will be picking up the majority if not all the new titles.

No one cares, this isn't tech support.

Not working for me, either. List was probably so bad they pulled it =p

The Wii has a bunch of pretty cool games, but it's widely criticized by "gamers" for its lack of graphics. In particular, it's got: No More Heroes, Madworld, Deadly Creatures (including an epic fight against a human; well, epic for a bug, at any rate), RE: Umbrella Chronicles, RE4, MP3:Cor, HotD2&3 + Overkill, and SSBB. On the way are Tatsunoko vs Capcom, Dead Space: Extraction, Sadness, I think there's still a Fatal Frame coming, and the new Mario. Unfortunately, a lot of this is going to be hampered by the Wii's terrible online.

And ROFLMAO!!!! @ the New Mario bros being a LBP rip. The DS title, which came out looooooongggg before LBP had already offered multiplayer.

That lineup is rather pathetic. I mean honestly you list RE4...... the rest of us are on RE5 in case you missed the memo. HotD and Umbrella Chronicles are rail shooters, sorry but I will stick with real shooters such as Killzone 2, Call of Duty and Bioshock. As far as Dead Space Extinction... another rail shooter, I will be sticking with the real Dead Space. Madworld and No More Heroes are pretty slick, the rest is average at best. When you compare lineups the Wii simply has nothing on Little Big Planet, Uncharted, Uncharted II, Ratchet, Killzone 2, Heavenly Sword, Grid, Fallout, Oblivion, GTA, Bioshock, Call of Duty Modern Warfare, Assassin's Creed, Prince of Persia, Street Fighter IV, Resistance, Resistance 2, Motorstorm, Soul Calibur IV, Metal Gear Solid IV, Dead Space, Infamous, Valkyria Chronicles..... and many, many, many more. The Wii has a weak lineup, graphics have nothing to do with it, the lack of games however does play a major role.

Oh and the new Mario Bros does look like a complete rip from LBP, sorry but it does.
