BlackBerry App World has landed
The rumors and speculations that Research In Motion would launch its anticipated BlackBerry App World application store at CTIA were dead on. On Wednesday, the Canadian smartphone and software maker will make BlackBerry App World available for download. RIM's application store seems to enjoy a logical layout, sharing some similarities with the iPhone App Store (mostly in the app discovery department), but also has a dark look all its own. but apps on a curve or pearl will have horrendous UI and will be impossible to use !
lets face it without touchscreens
phones are just email machines
all apps need a touchscreen to work optimally
also I wonder how annoying browsing through 100s of apps
in the app world with a directional keypad will be !
Ha ha ha ha ha ha. Day late, dollar short. I'm sure it'll be a hit on the 2 or three phones those apps actually work on. iPhone apps? They run on iPhones. All of them.
This is Blackberry's weak attempt to turn over some product.
I also don't need a shortcut that opens into the default blackberry browser (which is pretty lame). Let's get some apps that people will actually use please. Would it be too hard to look at the Apple Store, see what people are actually buying/downloading, contact those developers and have the write something for the Blackberry OS? I loves me some entertainment news, but ELLE Canada? No offense to the readers of that publication, but A. I didn't even know there was an ELLE Canada and B. WHY????? Why is that one of your lead off apps?
The BAW has a long way to go before it thinks it can seriously compete with Apple App Store.

(16 Comments)It's great how people fail to notice that this app world thing just came out. No **** its not as good as the appstore, its x days old.
There are free apps, and its has a written invitation for people to develop on the main page. Seriously, how is this such a bad thing lol.
Go RIM for finally making one, I'm pumped about this.
A call to all programmers, make moar apps!!!
Oh and apple fanboys, keep up the good work. I love reading the things you all post, they're quite funny.
