Not long after Sprint announced the LG Rumor 2, Alltel announced the LG Banter, which is really just a rebranded version of the LG Rumor 2. It has a slightly different design, but the specs are about the same.

It has stereo Bluetooth, a 1.3-megapixel camera, a microSD card slot, and, of course, the slide-out QWERTY keyboard. There's no pricing information about the Banter, but since the Rumor 2 is only $50, it probably won't be too far off from that.

I got this phone Thursday. I was about to purchase the Moto Hint when I saw a different sales person carry the Banter to a different costumer. I saw it and found the phone I wanted. Everyone who has the LG Scoop said they liked the QWERT Feature, but wished the design was a little more "modern". I asked the salesman about that particular phone and told me that they had just got it Wednesday. I was excited to carry it out of the store and begin texting on it. I'm glad Alltel got a new addition to their collection of phones.

I got this phone last week and am disappointed with it in a few ways. you cannot add ringtones, unless you buy them from alltel for 2.99 each, it is also difficult to arrange the keys to make it easier to get to the applications you use the most, and the owners manual is of no use for these things either. if anyone has any help on applying ringtones or programming/changing the arrows to call up what you want, please let me know. thanks!

It's all about GREED. Altell and the rest are a bunch of GREEDY JERKS! They told my wife that it is all about COPYRIGHTS. If THAT is the case, WHY will the Banter allow you to store and play all those MP3 music files that were downloaded from WHO KNOWS WHERE?
It's a bunch of BULL!
