Sprint customers suffering from a little BlackBerry envy after Verizon Wireless landed the BlackBerry Storm and AT&T scored the BlackBerry Bold may finally get their break.

According to Engadget Mobile, Sprint will replace its BlackBerry 8830 World Edition with the BlackBerry Bold some time this quarter. While running on Sprint's CDMA network, the smartphone is said to have dual-mode functionality, so it'll work on international GSM networks to give you world-roaming capabilities.

Other reported additions include a slightly updated design, more memory, and EV-DO Rev. A support.

The Boy Genius Report also chimed in with a few more details on the Sprint Bold, which it calls the BlackBerry Niagara: a full QWERTY keyboard, 480x360 nontouch display, assisted GPS, and a 3.2-megapixel camera. As expected, there's no official confirmation from the carrier or RIM, but as always, we'll let you know as soon as we have any information.

I am a Verizon customer and I would rather have the Bold with WiFi then that Storm with none.

About time. I just purchased the HTC Touch Pro, so I'll have to pass but this is good news for Sprint customers.

Hello Bonnie. Thanks for the heads up! I'm with verizon and own a WE 8830. I was one of those who waited anxiously for the Storm and got really disappointed. I really wanted to like it but when I played with the touchscreen, my girl nails got in the way. I guess bottom line is... no amount of exciting features matter if I'm not able to access it easily. I was hoping I could use it with a stylus but alas NO. Then I thought, if only verizon had the BOLD and they incorporated the World Edition 8830s features in it.....

every since i have used blackberry ive always said that the 8830 by far iis thew easiest blackberry to use because of its size of keys on the keyboard, if it ever had a camera like my touch pro and a faster network it would be the best phone!!!!!!!!!
