Verizon Wireless has offered prepaid plans for a long time, but last week the carrier announced that it was expanding its services. Maybe it's the economy, or maybe Verizon is just getting in the holiday spirit.

Customers can choose from three plans, each with a different daily access fee and calling rates. In the "Core" plan the daily access fee is $0.99 (for each day you use it) and you get unlimited in-network calling. All other calls are $0.10 per minute. In the "Plus" plan the daily access fee is $1.99 with free night calling. And in the "Power" plan, night and weekend calling is free, while out-of-network weekday calling is $0.10 per minute. The daily access fee for that plan is $2.99. Text messages for all plans are $0.10 each but Verizon added new text messaging bundles.

Multimedia messages remain $0.25 each and are not available in a bundle, but prepaid users can use their accounts to pay for Verizon's other media services. These include V Cast Music with Rhapsody, VZ Navigator, ringtones, ringback tones, Mobile Web, games, and other applications. See Verizon's announcement for the full story.

This is such an odd article. Unless I'm missing something, Verizon has had these plans for quite some time, and I've had them on my site for a number of months. Anyway, notwithstanding, the core point is valid in that these are great plans to consider. You can compare such daily plans from the major providers here: http://www.prepaid-wireless-guide.com/compare-daily-plans.html

Santa brought my 12 year old a verizon prepaid phone & $100 phone card. Three days after Christmas she recieved a text from Verizon stating that she was out of money on her account. During the three days that she had her phone, she made 2 phone calls and texted only Verizon users. How could she be out of funds? When we called & spoke to a service rep he stated that we never picked a plan (which we most certainly did). He said that she used up her $100 by texting the Verizon users. We told him that there must have been an error. Of coarse we picked the texting plan for unlimited mobile to mobile ttexting. Why else would she only text Verizon users? After 1 hr & 35 minutes, the reps & their supervisor still would not credit her account - matterof fact, they were down right rude! They disconected her phone all together. I am going to try resolve this tomorrow by going into a Verizon store to see if they are more pleasant and can credit her account with the $100. So sad that a huge coorporation has to crush my 12 daughter's gift by a mistake that their employee made. :(

Thats gayass. obviously you did something wrong! DUH. Employees rude? They spent over an hour explaining to you what you did wrong-only to hear that you REJECTED that and still keep insisting you were right. THEY are the experts, not YOU. Get a brain. OH WAIT. God mustve skipped over you because your head was too small. PS: "Santa brought your 12 year old a phone"?! Wow, I feel bad for your spouse.

You set up the plan, so you must of done something wrong.

And she would of recived a text saying she was below 10.00 before it would of said she had no money.
