It's Black Friday, that time-honored American consumer tradition of gathering with fellow shoppers to give thanks for Costco, Target, Kohl's, and JC Penney.

While we haven't spotted many amazing deals on consumer electronics for this year's buying bonanza, we did manage to dig up a few steals. And it got us wondering. Just how far would you go to get your hands on a cheap Blu-ray player or a Nikon D40 with a two-lens kit for $549?

Vote in our poll, and if we missed something, be sure to let us know in our Talkback section. And remember, don't unwrap your new PS3 while driving!

Sadly, it seems people would be willing to trample others, as was the situation in Long Island where the crowd busted down the doors at a Wal-Mart and trampled the greeter to death. It's a sad day for humanity.

Yes that is sad and a sign of the greed that has enveloped this nation.

There's no Black Friday in Canada so I'm letting my fingers do the walking. As much as I like a good deal, there's no way in hell I'd fight those crowds. Why do that when you can shop online? Also, prices usually go down again after Christmas, so you can get almost the same deals then if you want big ticket items.

i guess we here at Canada are more civilized, cuz i have never seen anyone pushing others down just to get in faster, but this lady at work said she was pushed down on boxing day, and she was pregnant

As to what actually happened at that wal-mart i was told he was just a temp unlocking the door, as soon as he did ppl started rushing in, i wonder how many ppl got in before some1 stopped and noticed him on the ground.

To bad we don't have black Friday here in Canada, but at least i can save up for that 42" Sony Bravia lcd tv that will hopefully go for under $750, currently at $1100
