As Thanksgiving approaches, we here at Crave are feeling grateful for a lot of things: family, friends, employment, good health. You know, the important stuff. But we're also feeling mighty thankful for our BlackBerrys, iPhones, giant flat-panel TVs, camera lenses, MP3 players, and reliable routers. What can we say? We're gearheads!

To mark this year's holiday, we've asked some of your favorite Crave contributors which gadget or aspect of technology they're most thankful for. It's going to be a two-part series (there are a lot of us here at Crave), so make sure to come back Friday.

Of course, we'd also love to know which gadget you're feeling most grateful for these days, so please share your thoughts in the comments section below.

The Kindle. It's like crack for readers. I've had an iPod for years (along with a 58,000 song music collection) and while I love it, it no where compares with the love for the Kindle. To be able to get books, news, blogs, magazines anywhere is such a huge addiction. Add in the passable e-mail and RSS reader, and this has quickly become indispensable.

My iPhone. I use it to watch movies at the gym, and it has kept me getting bored during my workouts so it has changed my life for the better.

Oh lord, I hate looking at the back of the caboose rolling down the tracks...what's a Kindle? What's a YP-P2? OK, I have a Curve -- now if I just had time to actually learn to use some of its features....sigh.

This will probably get reported as offensive since there seems to be so much Love and Sensitivity these days... but, I'm thankful for my Chevy Suburban 2004 HD 2500 with optional gadget QUADRA-STEERING (i.e. the back wheels turn). I can actually squeeze into smaller spaces than my wife's Honda Odyssey.

There are probably a couple for me.

First off, I'm thankful for my Infinity Sterling SS-2001 bookshelf speakers. These puppies were last new in 1996, but they can still belt out sound like no 5.25 inch woofer loudspeakers I've ever heard. Bowers-Wilkins doesn't hold a candle.

Secondly, my Diamond Radeon 4870. Call of Duty 4, 1680x1050 4x AA max graphics at 300 FPS? I love you.

Last, my Logitech G15 keyboard, original version. As dirty as it may be (I need to clean it badly...) it has served me with unwavering faith and excellent performance for years. Though I don't use all (or any) of the G keys, the screen is extremely useful, be it for clock, winamp, fraps, or ventrilo.

I'm thankful for thumb drives. I know they're there 10$ each now and not as sexy as an iPhone. But, does anyone remember how crappy it was to move files around, when everything was to big to put on a disks so you had to burn CD's all the time.

I am thankful for digital cameras! I just wish I could afford more of them and the super high resolution ones like Sony's new A900 at 25mp. Add to that film scanners, flat bed scanners and dye sub printers... anyone want to buy my old darkroom equipment? It's been in storage for almost 10 years now...

There are a lot of gadgets I am thankful for, but the most important one is probably my router. Without the router, the home network would not exist, and the internet would not be nearly as widespread as it is today without it.
If you're looking for a more specific example though, I would say my Altec-Lansing 5.1 THX-certified Surround System. The system is perfectly balanced, and is powerful enough to knock dust loose from the ceiling. I have to keep my computer at 6% volume for normal use.

EVER SINCE I BOUGHT MY FIRST CELL PHONE, THE NOKIA 3200 (STOLEN). IT HAS ME HOOKED! UNFORTUNATELY, THERE IS NOTHING TO REPLACE MY NOKIA 2760 YET.

My original first gen Ipod with 5gb hardrive. I've kept this for five years, replacing the battery only once.
I still find it to be the most perfect player above all the new stuff out there.

I love our Sonos wireless stereo system. We have access to Rhapsody, Pandora, last.fm, any webcast stations, plus our own collection, all via easy-to-use handheld remotes, all over the house.
