Moldy bag sure to deter evil sandwich stealers
The moldy bag: make sure it's the fake one before you confidently chomp into the bag's contents...yuck.
(Credit: Trend Hunter)The conversation around the office birthday cake turned grim last week, as the tale of the unstoppable lunch thief was recounted. It was a terrifying yet familiar story.
Jane made a delicious roast beef sandwich, put it in a bag clearly marked "Jane," brought it to work, and placed it in the communal fridge. But at noon, as Jane went to the kitchen, her mouth salivating at the expectation of that horseradish and cheese, she was shocked to find the brown bag empty and her exquisite creation gone.
If only Jane had known about the Fake Mold Lunch Bags. Created by New York-based engineer and designer Sherwood Forlee, these bags are sure to gross out any lunch thief. Just place your delectable sandwich inside its clean yet deceptively filthy-looking plastic, and voila: the unstealable sandwich. Even the most stealthy lunch thief won't be desperate enough to eat a moldy sandwich (we hope).
Just be careful when you saunter to the kitchen, pull that blessed sandwich out of the mold-filled bag, and knowingly take a bite right there in front of your boss. If not properly informed, she might get the impression you're so starving you'll eat a month-old sandwich. That, or she'll think you're just plain gross.
The bags aren't currently available in retail stores, but you can visit Forlee's site to find out how to get your hands on one of these sick, yet useful, contraptions. Good luck, and may your sandwiches be safe.

p.s. Link to Forlee's site goes to a resume', not product info.

- My remedy, after starving through 12 -13 hour nonstop shifts in ICU because someone raided the refrigerator: LEAVE A FRIDGE FOOTSTEP. I visibly contaminate my own lunch by taking a bite out of my fruit or sandwich when I make it, open and stir my yogurt then stuff a piece of fruit on top before closing the lid, leave a lipstick mark on the rim of my beverage. You get the picture. I haven't had the problem in years . . . and its free.
