Sony rolls out three new all-in-one Vaio PCs
Sony on Wednesday announced three new all-in-one PCs, the 20-inch Vaio JS, the 24-inch Vaio LS, and the 25.5-inch Vaio RT.
We found lots to like with the 20-inch Sony Vaio JS.
(Credit: Sony Electronics Inc.)The Vaio JS (read our review of the Vaio JS190J; the system earned itself an Editors' Choice award) starts at $1,000 and boasts a simple, sparse design. A silver (or a black or a pink) bezel with rounded corners surrounds the 20.1-inch screen, which features a 1,680x1,050 resolution. Above the display is a Webcam and below is a speaker bar. Inside, the Vaio JS uses a 3.0GHz Core 2 Duo E8400 processor, 4GB of 800MHz memory, integrated Intel GMA 4500HD graphics, and a 500GB hard drive. A DVD burner comes standard; a Blu-ray drive is an upgrade option.
Middle child: the 24-inch Sony Vaio LS.
(Credit: Sony Electronics Inc.)The Vaio LS features what Sony calls a "floating mirror" design, similar to what we saw with the Vaio LT19U last year. Its 24-inch display features a 1,920x1,200 resolution. Blu-ray drives and rewriteable drives are available, and up to a 1TB hard drive is offered. An HDMI input lets you connect the PC to your cable box to act as a DVR, as well as to PS3 or Xbox 360 consoles. Pricing starts at $1,600 for Vaio LS models.
More than a monitor: the 25.5-inch Sony Vaio RT.
(Credit: Sony Electronics Inc.)At the top of Sony's all-in-one Vaio line sits the Vaio RT. The matte black all-in-one could be mistaken for a slightly thick LCD. The 25.5-inch model is a high-performance machine that's built for media creation rather than only consumption. It features an Intel Core 2 Quad CPU, up to 8GB of RAM, a 512MB GeForce 9600M GT graphics card, and up to a 1TB hard drive. A Blu-ray rewriteable drive is standard, and the system includes a pair of TV tuners and both HMDI inputs and outputs.
The two high-end models are less deskbound, in that they feature integrated power supplies, making them more suitable for mounting on a wall. The LS and RT models also feature a wireless keyboard with touchpad and a wireless mouse. The JS line comes standard with a wired mouse and keyboard, limiting its living-room appeal. All models feature WLAN.
Sony states that all three all-in-one lines will start shipping this fall.

- This is very nice indeed! I just hope they add the USBports to the back and not on a side of the screen, so it won't ruin the good looks
