iPhone software update released; we still wait for a fix

Achoo! I've caught a cold.
(Credit: Corinne Schulze/CNET Networks)As my colleague Tom Krazit over at CNET News already told you, Apple released the iPhone OS 2.0.2 software update on Monday. Unfortunately, our iPhone 3G has other plans. Our review model still is caught in an endless series of restore cycles. Hopefully, I'll get it fixed soon and can let you know what the update brings.

The company I work for handed out iPhone 3G to all employees who are constantly out of the office.... (including me, and I am a photographer for a press agency, so I am always constantly out of the office) and problem hit immediately when workers began updating their phones to 2.0.1.....
Of course, my iPhone was not one of those affected, but some phones ended up in endless reset cycle that won't stop....
I tried fixing it for one of my colleague, but in the end, Me and My Colleague went to the Apple Store, and sure enough, The Genius told me that the firmware was damaged beyond repair and therefore, his phone needed to be replaced.... (and yes, he got a replacement the same day...)
So, I don't know about your phone, but I think your phone might have a damaged firmware, and therefore, the whole phone needs to be replaced....
