This little piggy wants an iPod

iPod speaker dock shaped like a pig? Sounds like a pigheaded idea, but it's a surprisingly practical reality.

This little piggy made a guest appearance at CES, but is now finally here. The iPig is a speaker dock system for your MP3 player, with 25 watts of power for the four speakers and four-inch woofer, giving 360-degrees of sound. Speakal claims it's designed to be environmentally friendly, made from non-hazardous materials.

The iPig has a distinctive way of turning the volume up and down. Touch the right ear of the iPig to raise the volume and touch the left one to lower the volume. It ships with a non-piggish remote control that allows you to adjust volume and EQ. The mouth on the iPig lights up and flashes when a command is received from the remote.

Besides Apple audio players, it also supports other devices with a 3.5mm-input jack (Zune owners, don't feel left out). It also ships with an unspecified assortment of cradles for different players. The iPig comes in three different colors: pink, white, and yellow. And at $139.99, you don't have to spend as much bacon as you might for some other high-end iPod speaker docks on the market.
