Review: Vizio VP322, the world's smallest plasma
Vizio's VP322 plasma measures just 32 inches diagonal.
(Credit: CNET)Before the Vizio VP322 came along, we always said that plasma-screen HDTVs basically started at 42 inches and went up from there. One exception was Panasonic's 37-inch size, which is still available in the form of models like the TH37PH10UK professional model, but now that Panasonic is into LCD at that size, it no longer markets a 37-inch plasma to consumers.
Vizio, one of the few budget companies that bothers with both plasma and LCD, has taken another tack in introducing the smallest plasma yet. The 32-inch VP322 is the same size as the company's popular VO32L, an LCD model, and it has the same list price. But a few items on the spec sheet are different, including native resolution, contrast ratio, or course, response time. So do those specs translate to visible differences between the Vizio and other budget LCDs?
As usual, the full review tells a different story from the specs. The plasma's higher contrast ratio didn't translate into better black levels, and the difference in resolution was negligible. This plasma's main weakness is color accuracy, which is only partly balanced by the advantage of superior picture uniformity. In the end we prefer some budget LCDs, but the Vizio plasma still might appeal to bargain hunters who want to go glass.

Dear Sir,
This is to inform you that I am . Extremely disgusted of your customer service dept. and tech support dept. I purchased a 20 inch HDTV. at Costco, From the start I had problems with very low sound. I called took me thru a few changes in settings that made a slight improvement but still not loud enough especially on the cable stations, and a tech told me that was pretty much the way it was with that size TV. Now the sound has a very loud static in the speaker itself. sounds like popcorp popping in a microwave oven.
I called again and there's no record of my previous calls, at this time, I was asked to get the original sales slip and fax it in. I was given instructions, on where to fax it. And told that when they received the fax they would then, arrange to have me mail in the tv for repair. They never acknowledged the fax. I called several times and they said they couldn't fmd it. this took days Then it was "what is your customer service number" I was never given that either. I called again customer service and this I was told to mail back. The TV and they would send me a new one. I question, how to mail it back. They said someone would get back to me with the information. A few hours later Rubin from tech support called me and gave me the address to mail back the tv. He never gave me the R.M.A number.
He said he would send me out packing material. I complained that this is going to take weeks before I would receive the replacement. His answer (NO),,,,,,. you'll get the packing material in two days. That was six days ago. Today I called once again, and was told that Rubin never ordered the packing material .... Now they promised to send it out a/s/a/p. This ordeal started on Sept 13, and today is Sept 22, I have not made any progress what so ever. Today I had to ask for a Case number. And a RMA number I had to ask for a supervisor and make a complaint. By the way when you call the tech support number your given an 800 number for quicker service, try dialing and you hear music and then your disconnected. Needless to say I am totally turned off to your company and to your televisions', and will make complaint to the BBB and to Costco. Your customer service people and tech people are totally inept . the box arrived on the 1st of Oct. Lord knows when the Telivision will get back here. if you google vizio sound proplems you'll see many complaints like this one. One guy said he is struggling with this company for ten months. His replacement had the same problems as the first one. He advised not to even start with company and that he was throwing out his 'vizio and going to 'sony
Sincerely
Theresa Granata
