EA hints at new marketing for PC games

Blogger Chris Remo reported yesterday on a chat he had with a representative from Electronic Arts during Comic-Con. The news was that to help spur the sales of its PC games, Electronic Arts may begin marketing PCs around their capability to play certain games. The report cited that EA is considering computers in the $600 to $800 price range, and that it would highlight systems according to various image quality and performance levels for a particular game.

Given the fact that EA published the demanding Crysis, which continues to bring even multithousand dollar PCs to its knees, we can certainly understand why EA wants to break down some of those intimidating barriers for shoppers. But if EA's plan means yet another badging program similar to AMD Game, Intel Inside, and the in-the-works general gaming specification from the PC Gaming Alliance, your PC might soon look more like a NASCAR entry.
