New York Giants Web site says they've already won Super Bowl
In an interestingly confident mix-up, the New York Giants' Web site not only announces that the team has already won, but offers winners' memorabilia for sale.
New Yorkers bathe in their cockiness. Which is odd for a city that enjoys the Knicks and the Mets.
What, though, can one make of the fact that yesterday, the New York Giants Web site offered that the team was already Super Bowl champions? Yes, a full 24 hours before the game.
It also encouraged the team's faithful to snap up wonderful Super Bowl winning apparel and even a special custom Championship Badge with which to adorn their Facebook and Twitter pages.
Pro Football Talk noticed this remarkably incomplete pass.

ESPN offered this statement from the NFL: "It is common practice for both teams to create Web pages in advance of the conference championship games and Super Bowl."
The NFL added: "In this case, the hidden URL for the page was inadvertently available for a brief period of time while it was being positioned on the NFL server for possible post tomorrow night."
I am sure that no New Yorkers were responsible for this inadvertent haughtiness.
I am sure that the Giants are approaching the game with appropriate humility. I am sure that all Giants faithful follow the low-key attitude of safety Antrel Rolle, who reportedly announced as he boarded the flight to Indianapolis: "We are going to win this thing."
It will be interesting to see which URL will enjoy substantial commerce tonight immediately after the game.
