The worst video YouTube has ever seen?

Which is why I would like to offer you a TV spot for the Red House furniture store in High Point, N.C.

It has already been viewed by more than 600,000 people on YouTube. And it is, it is...well, I think it would be best if you tried to add the words to finish the thought, as I have been temporarily paralyzed. I am not sure if it's fright, shock, disgust, or last night's tricolore salad.

All I know is that I have never seen anything like this.

In a weird sort of way, I kinda like this -- if advertisers are getting less inclined to tiptoe around racial differences and pretend they don't exist, that might mean that society is gradually getting more so-what about those differences. That's not a bad thing, IMHO.

(In the same general category, it's likewise not a bad thing that black actors are increasingly hired to play not just good guys but bad guys too.)

There's humorous, and there's offensive. I think this pushes towards the latter. Why take such an approach? And was this actually used and put on the air? I can think of worse things to possibly do for such a commercial, but I don't want to give anyone ideas.

As a white relative northerner, I have felt discomfort with excessive deference from southern blacks when I visited there. Made it obvious to me that the South has not been entirely rehabilitated from segregation. With that perspective, I appreciate the store's effort to say that the only color that matters to them is green. It's the implementation (love the GI Joe handshake description) that makes us wince. (Makes it look forced an disingenuous.)

I hate to say it, I live in Upper SC, have been to High Point NC, and knowing the area, that commercial would actually be considered "high production costs". In all honesty I have seen much worse local commercials than that one.

this was supposed to be a funny ad, its not a joke, i live like three minutes down the street from this place, they hired the guys that are singing in the video to make a low budget commercial for them, and unfortunately it turned out like crap
