Today is Firefox 3 Download Day 2008. Those of us on the west coast should be on the lookout starting at 10am to download the latest and greatest version of Firefox and put more nails into the IE coffin.

Besides the fun of ruining Microsoft's day, the Mozilla team is going for a world record. You can learn more about it here.

Dave Rosenberg dishes up "Software, Interrupted" with nearly 15 years of technology and marketing experience that spans from Bell Labs to multiple start-up IPOs to open-source enterprise software companies. He is co-founder of MuleSource and currently serves as the general manager of Hardy Way. He is a member of the CNET Blog Network and is not an employee of CNET. Disclosure. I'm waiting too. The only v3 I could find was still listed as a beta for testing. After all the big buildup, are they going to miss the June 17 date?

It says "10a.m. on the west coast". It's not even 12pm on the east coast. Give it an hour and a half or so.

It's now well after 10AM PST and it is still not up! Who do they think they are, Microsoft? Just kidding, we would still be waiting months, not hours, if that were the case! Mozilla, just want you guys to know we are following through on our end here on "DOWNLOAD DAY", where are you?

unbelievable... i am able to open firefox's site with IE7 but not with firefox 2, still can't. Ironic huh?

Anyway, this is ridiculous, the lack of information from firefox is inexcusable, you just cannot create this kind of hype and not deliver. I completely understand delays, the issue is not having everyone guessing.

I do hope those 400,000 odd people at Majorgeeks downloaded from the official website as well.
It would be such a shame to miss the world record by a few 100,000 just because of a few stupid users.
download from Mozilla here: http://www.mozilla-europe.org/en/firefox/
