This is an update of a deal I wrote about last year. Hopefully it won't sell out as quickly this time!
Looking to add a decent sound system to your laptop, or even an HDTV? When you're doing an end run around tiny, tinny built-in speakers, there's nowhere to go but up.
Today only, and while supplies last, Overrunz.com has the refurbished Logitech Z313 2.1-channel speaker system for $24.99, plus $5 for shipping. It sells elsewhere for at least $40, and new for $50.
This 25-watt system includes two satellite speakers and a subwoofer. As even novice audiophiles know, the latter makes a huge difference in the depth and overall quality of the sound you'll hear.
If you're putting the Z313 on a desk alongside a laptop or monitor, you'll appreciate the wired volume control, which includes a headphone jack for those times when you want to listen on your own.
However, I think these would make an especially good match for a den or bedroom TV. Just plug them into the TV's headphone jack and you're good to go. And because they have their own power supply, you don't have to worry about whether your TV has a powered USB port.
Want to know what others think about the Z313? Check the nearly 350 user reviews at Amazon, which average out to 4.1 stars out of 5.
The last time I wrote about this speaker system, there was no warranty, only a 30-day replacement option. Here you've got a 90-day warranty, though it's not immediately clear who's providing it. (My guess is Logitech, but if you're concerned, contact Overrunz.com before ordering.)
Life is too short to suffer poor audio. By grabbing a set of speakers like these, you'll vastly improve the sound coming out of your PC or TV. This deal definitely gets my Cheapskate Seal of Approval. Just cheapin' it real...
Bonus deal: Do you buy a lot of stuff from iTunes? Or do you know someone who does that has a birthday coming up? For what promises to be a very limited time, Staples has a $50 iTunes gift card for $40 shipped. This is a physical card that will get delivered to you via trackable shipping, no extra charge. That's one of the best iTunes gift-card deals I've seen, a full 20 percent off. (Usually you have to opt for a $100 card to get that kind of discount.)
